The Pharmacy Intern for Genoa will work side by side with clinical pharmacists to develop programs impacting medications covered through the health insurance plans to impact the Triple Aim - better outcomes, better experience at a lower cost.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prescription Drug List Management
    • Assist in evaluating medications from clinical standpoint
    • Work in conjunction with communications/marketing on materials necessary to support programs. This would include consumer, customer and physician programs
    • Engage with physicians/providers to encourage use of lower-cost options
  • Clinical/Utilization Management programs
    • Assist in evaluating medications and/or therapeutic classes being considered for clinical/utilization management programs to determine program components and clinical criteria as needed
    • Assist and/or provide support for clinical projects
  • Clinical initiatives
    • Assist in development of other clinical initiatives such as development of educational programs, adherence, opioid management

Required Qualifications:

  • Actively enrolled in a Doctor of Pharmacy program at an Accredited Pharmacy School
  • Eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization (F-1 students with practical training and candidates requiring H-1Bs, TNs, etc. will not be considered)


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Board of Pharmacy Intern License
    • If you do not currently have an active Board of Pharmacy Intern License, you must obtain one prior to your scheduled start date
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint


Washington Residents Only: The hourly range for this role is $16.00 to $20.05 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
